Our company

Redbus company

Red Bus is your trusted passenger transport provider for the urban, school, tourism and charter bus user.

We aim to champion positive change in our region, helping improve scheduled and charter public transport services for the people of Canterbury and the South Island.

Our vision - we are driven by innovation.

Technological and user-focussed innovation will create an effective public transport service, critical to supporting a thriving, liveable Canterbury. Everything we do revolves around this vision.

Think of a Canterbury bus. It’s a ‘Red Bus’.

Our brand is synonymous with Christchurch, and we always hold the best interests of Cantabrians and visitors at the heart of everything we do.

We are a Council Controlled Trading Organisation locally owned by the people of Christchurch through Christchurch City Holdings Limited (CCHL), the investment arm of the Christchurch City Council (CCC). We are immensely proud to serve the community, our partners and owners daily.

Bus lineup

Providing services to attract and grow bus patronage.

More people on buses mean less congestion on our roads, less pollution in the air, and more public money available to go into the services Cantabrians need.

Red Bus is continually identifying and testing new ideas and technologies to provide efficient and effective services.
